All the fashion shows on the runway and the celebs in the front rows could not compete with the buzz that was the Gucci party last night. The party, hosted by Madonna at the UN's headquarters, celebrated the opening of Gucci's flagship store in New York's Fifth Avenue with proceeds going to children's charities UNICEF and Raising Malawi. Raising Mawali was co-founded by the Material Girl herself.

Madonna was joined by Rihanna, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher, Drew Barrymore, Heidi Klum, Nelly Furtado and Jennifer Lopez to name a few.

Despite rumours that surfaced weeks ago that Madonna was using this charity event to favour her Kabbalah religion, the party was the star-powered event it promised to be as New York Fashion Week hits its midpoint.
