Hollywood actress Uma Thurman is suing Lancome for $15 million claiming the French cosmetics giant continued to use her name and face in brand advertisements after her contract expired.

The Boston-born beauty was the face of Lancome from 2000-2004, but she accuses the L'Oreal-owned company of using her image in ads for years after their agreed term.

The lawsuit said the company gave the "false impression" that Thurman was still linked to Lancome.

Thurman's lawyer, Bert Fields, told Reuters that the cosmetics giant also failed to tell retailers to stop using ads that feature the six-foot femme.

"The use of Ms. Thurman's image after her contract expired, however minor, was neither deliberate nor intentional," said L'Oreal Spokesperson Jennifer James in a statement.

Thurman, 38, filed the lawsuit in Manhattan federal court following a suit filed by Lancome at the Supreme Court last Wednesday.
