London Fashion Week will debut a new initiative from the Heart and Design Organization to raise funds for the Royal Brompton Hospital. Some of the world's top designers will create a one-off piece that will show to the public from September 13-15, 2008. At the end of its run, it will be auctioned at Christies with all proceeds going towards buying equipment for the hospital, which is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK.
The big name designers include Marc Jacobs, Giles Deacon, Karl Lagerfeld, Matthew Williamson and Roland Mouret. All have been known for pushing the boundaries of design and will no doubt make their mark at the charity show. |
