A year after its revival, Halston looks to be in need of a new creative director as WWD reports that designer Marco Zanini is no longer with the company.
Zanini was hired by movie mogul Harvey Weinstein and Tamara Mellon to resurrect the 70s label. His first collection debuted at New York Fashion Week last February to lukewarm reviews yet that has not been confirmed as the reason for his relief from employment. The 54-year-old designer is still set to design the spring/summer 2009 collection for New York's fashion Week in September, making it his second and last collection with Halston. The fashion label is no stranger to company dilemma. Since the death of its founder Roy Halston in 1990, the company has placed its trust in many designers in the past clearly to no avail. Neither Halston executives nor Zanini could be reached to comment. |
