A tribute to the father of fashion: During New York Fashion Week, Italian designer Valentino will be recognized one last time by the fashion world through an exhibit called "The Red Thread: The Inspiration and Passion of Valentino Garavani."
The 76-year-old - who retired from the industry last January - spent 45 years designing and inventing haute couture that is widely recognized as the inspiration for the runways of the world. Samsung Electronics, set to host the tribute at The Grace Building, is adding a futuristic, tech-driven kick to the venue, spread throughout five themed-rooms including; the design process, Valentino's inspirations, behind-the-scenes, the history, and the impact on the industry. High expectations: Valentino's tribute will also include items from past collections, couture dresses and footage from Valentino: The Last Emperor, the upcoming documentary by Matt Tyrnauer. After a Manhattan stay, the exhibit will hit England for the London Fashion Week. |
