Louis Vuitton devised an uncommon occurrence for its most recent Core Values campaign. The label exclusively selected Annie Leibovitz for the shoot - allowing the photographer an opportunity to switch her role from snapping away behind the camera to posing in front of it. Leibovitz also requested ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov to appear in the photograph with her.

The shoot itself is an illustration of the visionary's mind and career. Vuitton substituted Leibovitz's studio as the backdrop, with Leibovitz seated on the floor and staring contemplatively up at Baryshnikov. The caption below reads, The journey of a star, captured in a flash.

Vuitton communication director Antoine Arnault says, "She's a real, pure, 100% artist. We've always been very committed to her, to her talent."

Leibovitz has made a few previous contributions to the brand. She designed a signature backpack and matching shoulder bag for charity last year and shot several of their other Core Values ads.
