It's similar to that feeling I got as a kid every Christmas morning.  That warm rush of excitement disguised as a nervous anxiety I could never shake.  The same restless anticipation I had the night before my first day on a set.  That sensation that comes every time the lights dim, music rises, and a designer's name flashes across the backboard of the runway.  I'm embarking on a new adventure.

I am very proud to introduce myself to readers as Fashion Television's newest intern.  I'm Shenae Grimes and many people know me as one of the lead actors on Degrassi: The Next Generation but as of today, I have a new title. Walking into the FT offices my first day, I had no idea what to expect.  I knew as an intern I'd be responsible for the less glamorous administrative tasks but hey, that's what I'm here for! Shortly into the day however, I learnt how much more it means to be an intern here.  The staff at FT immediately encouraged me to get the most out of my internship creatively.  I was welcomed to voice any input or ideas so openly by everyone.  My first day exposed me to a world of eye-opening opportunity that I am eager to delve into.

I have  some time off from filming right now and am so thrilled to dedicate myself to not only a new experience but another true passion in my life; fashion.  When the other interns and I weren't consumed by the important task of managing the largest fashion tape library in the world, owned by none other than yours truly, I spent my time thinking up suggestions for upcoming events, projects, etc. I'm the littlest fish in a big pond again and I like it; can't wait to observe, explore and participate in this hard-hitting industry that has intrigued me for so long.  I hope to be a proud addition to the FT team!

An actor/intern.  A bit of a contrast some might say.  The best of both worlds for me.
