Very seldom will you see a representative of the fashion industry on a political satire but last night's The A Daily Show had Chief Creative Officer of Liz Claiborne and Project Runway (USA) mentor Tim Gunn.

As an avid fan of Jon Stewart, I did find this a breath of fresh air from his usual slew of political authors, experts, candidates and the odd actors. Also, it was refreshing seeing New York Fashion Week being treated as a topic of discussion outside our FT (and other fashion media) walls. Tim Gunn pointed out New York Fashion Week is the event that launches the fashion weeks worldwide. It is, quote Gunn, "our Fashion Superbowl". Well said!

It's a great interview worth a watch and you can see Gunn discuss fashion with someone who claims he knows nothing about fashion (others may feel like they're in the same boat with Stewart). He's not condescending, pompous and snooty and Jon Stewart said it best about Gunn: "Why isn't everyone as reasonable as you as a human being?"
