If the Holt Renfrew shoe department on Bloor Street has become more of an art installation that deserves art gallery etiquette then a place to swipe your plastic; then Converse may have answered your prayers. As a male who has found visual stimulation in the heels of Alexander McQueen's Union Jack Ankle Boots (it's a look don't touch situation), my interests were peaked on our bi yearly pilgrimage to the Converse spring preview. This spring the iconic shoe pays tribute to the British Invasion of musical cool with a Union Jack Sneaker; with red, white and blue material ripped across the high top. The tongue of the shoe is home to The Who label; but whether you love the band these shoes will be part of a rock out ensemble. And women nervous for the McQueen investment may have just found a new home for their stylish feet.
