Jail Cats

Day 2 : our first stop: gatti galeotti (jail cats) that's the name of the fashion label created via a rehabillitation program for women prisoners which has the inmates manufacturing garments... Aka "jailhouse frock". It's redemption through fashion and it was touching.


At Emporio Armani hemlines were high (I thought they dropped in troubled economic times??!) Talked to the Devil (she's pretty much THE BEST) about the influence of first ladies on fashion (ie michelle's Vogue cover......... ). Anna piaggi loved Missoni. We loved Anna's clown suit.

Travel Recovery Day

Arrived in Milan this morning, napped, then hit the streets to get acclimatized. My mouth was hanging open in awe of how totally goth Milan's famous gothic cathedral is (not to mention amazingly creepy and ominous looking as dusk settled in) when I walked passed The Devil herself! We made eye contact and it took me a moment to register who it was. I'm pretty happy I managed to catch myself before saying "hey." I felt as square as my hotel toilette. But now I've had some pizza and vino and am ready for the shows tomorrow.
