Billionaire "designer to the stars" --Giorgio Armani
Although Armani has had his own design house for over 30 years, that's a relatively short time to build a fashion empire. He got his start working as a designer for Nino Cerruti in the sixties before starting his own label in 1975. His work designing for films such as the trendsetting American Gigolo released in 1980, helped bring him to an international audience. Armani has continued his relationship with the film world by dressing many stars for the red carpet increasing his own fame in the process. His company has also branched into almost every area of fashion and the 74 year old has amassed a personal fortune estimated at 5 billion dollars. Having already mastered so many aspects of design and business, Armani decided to tackle haute couture and launched his Armani Prive line in 2005.
